Charlotte Pence

Charlotte Pence has published her poetry in Denver Quarterly, North American Review, Southern Poetry Review, Prairie Schooner and other journals. She is the author of two chapbooks of poetry, Weaves a Clear Nightand The Branches, The Axe, The Missing (winner of the Black River Chapbook award for 2012). In 2011, the anthology she edited--The Poetics of American Song Lyrics-- appeared, a collection of essays by prominent American poets largely redefining the literary view of songs. In the fall Ms. Pence will join the creative writing faculty at Eastern Illinois University. She and her husband, fiction writer Adam Prince, and their very young daughter, Esmé Eleven, live in Knoxville, Tennessee.
